You are ready for change.
Private, values-based therapy for adults navigating life transitions
You’re not lost. You’re evolving.
You’ve built a life that works — but something isn’t working for you.
Maybe your role is changing, your identity is shifting, or you’ve outgrown what once made sense. You feel the tension between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.
This is a pivotal moment — and it’s worth navigating with intention.
Services
I offer private, individualized therapy for adults ready to step into the next chapter of life with clarity, emotional agility, and deeper self-trust. My work supports thoughtful individuals who are navigating:
Career evolutions or professional reinvention
Leadership fatigue, burnout, or imposter syndrome
Relationship changes, separation, or divorce
Shifting roles — empty nesting, caregiving, identity loss
Navigating recovery from addiction
A quiet but persistent sense that life should feel more aligned
If you’re ready to realign with your values and lead a life that feels more true — I’d be honored to support your process.
About me
I’m Dr. Tricia Steeves, a licensed counseling psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting adults through seasons of growth, change, and reinvention.
I believe therapy is more than treatment — it’s an active investment in the person you’re becoming. It’s a space for insight, emotional recalibration, and clearing out what no longer serves you — outdated beliefs, inherited narratives, internal clutter. It’s intentional and effortful. And with time, it becomes a foundation for lasting, self-directed change.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me behind a camera, getting lost in a novel, or walking my dogs — practicing presence in the small, ordinary moments that bring life into focus.
What You Can Expect
Therapy with me is grounded, strategic, and emotionally present. We focus on:
Clarifying what matters most — your values, your energy, your priorities
Expanding psychological flexibility and self-leadership
Understanding and gently updating old internal patterns
Building resilience for complexity, uncertainty, and change
Our work is collaborative and tailored to your needs. I integrate evidence-based practices (ACT, CBT, EMDR) with mindfulness and values-oriented approaches to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
How is therapy different from coaching?
While therapy and coaching can both be growth-focused, there are important differences.
As a licensed psychologist, I bring clinical training and experience to support both present-day challenges and the deeper patterns that may be shaping them. Therapy offers the emotional depth and psychological insight to address not only where you're going — but also what’s getting in the way.
This isn’t a program. It’s not a formula. I don’t offer quick fixes or polished promises.
Instead, I offer an honest, thoughtful process that’s tailored to you. I show up as my full self — grounded, present, and committed — so you can do the same. Together, we explore what matters most, what’s holding you back, and how to move forward with greater clarity, integrity, and self-trust.
Is This the Right Fit?
I work best with thoughtful, motivated individuals who are:
Facing high-stakes decisions or major life transitions
Ready to deepen their resilience and emotional clarity
Seeking a space that’s intelligent, grounded, and nonjudgmental
Wanting to lead their lives more intentionally — on their own terms
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to begin.

I offer private-pay sessions to clients in 43 states (see FAQ for details on PSYPACT).
I’m also in-network with select insurance plans in Colorado, Nevada, and Utah (see FAQ). Clients located in these three states can choose whether to use the insurance or private pay option.
All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, allowing you to connect from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Private-Pay Option
Private-Pay:
Greater flexibility in how we structure our work
No formal diagnosis required
Full confidentiality without third-party involvement
The freedom to focus on growth, clarity, and personal evolution — even when symptoms aren’t the driving factor
Private-pay may be ideal if you're seeking depth-oriented, values-based therapy that doesn’t always align with medical models or insurance requirements.
Insurance Option
Using Insurance:
I am in-network with select plans in Colorado, Nevada, and Utah
A formal mental health diagnosis is required for reimbursement
Insurance may limit the type or frequency of sessions based on medical necessity
Some clients appreciate the financial accessibility this option provides
Whether private-pay or insurance, our work will be guided by your goals, your values, and a commitment to meaningful, sustainable change.

FAQs

Yes! I am able to accept insurance in the states in which I am licensed.
In Nevada, I accept Aetna.
In Utah, I accept Aetna and Optum/United
In Colorado, I accept Aetna, Optum/United, and Anthem BCBS
I am paneled with insurance through Alma. To see the most updated insurance information, check out my Alma profile: https://secure.helloalma.com/providers/tricia-steeves/ -
If I am considered out-of-network for your insurance plan, I will not be able to bill your insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill — a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your specific plan.
To better understand your benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
Is telehealth/virtual therapy covered?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it has been met?
What percentage of session costs will be reimbursed once my deductible is met?
Keep in mind that using out-of-network benefits typically requires a formal mental health diagnosis and may involve meeting specific documentation requirements set by your insurance company.

This is entirely up to you. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket for various reasons, including:
Greater Privacy: Your therapy records are kept entirely between you and your therapist, without sharing information with insurance companies.
No Formal Diagnosis Required: Private pay clients are not required to meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis to access services.
More Flexibility: Therapy can be tailored to your goals and needs, not restricted by insurance definitions of "medical necessity."
Long-Term Growth Focus: We can work at a pace that fits your growth, rather than focusing only on symptom reduction or short-term treatment plans required by insurance.
Whether you use insurance or opt for private pay, we can discuss what feels most aligned with your needs and goals.

PSYPACT is an agreement between participating states that allows licensed psychologists to provide teletherapy across state lines legally and ethically. If you are physically located in one of the 42 states that participate in PSYPACT, you can work with a PSYPACT- authorized psychologist, even if they live elsewhere.

No. PSYPACT sessions are private-pay only at this time. Contact your insurance providers for more information about out-of-network coverage.
-
A superbill is a specialized receipt that includes all the information your insurance company requires to process an out-of-network claim.
If you choose this option, you would pay for sessions out-of-pocket and then submit the superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Please note that many insurance plans require you to meet an out-of-network deductible before any reimbursement is issued.
To better understand your coverage, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking about your out-of-network benefits for behavioral health services.

I am 100% virtual and am unable to offer in person sessions at this time.

You can reach out through my contact form or email me directly to request an initial consultation. I’ll follow up to schedule a brief, 10-15 minute free phone call.
If we decide to move forward, I’ll send intake paperwork through a secure online portal and we’ll schedule your first session from there. -
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
I understand that life happens, and I’ll always do my best to be flexible when possible, but the following policy helps me hold space for all clients consistently and respectfully.
First late cancellation is chalked up to “life happens.” No fee.
Second late cancellation is a $50 fee.
Any late cancellations afterward is a full session fee.
Any no-call-no-show is a full session fee.
Please note that insurance will not cover cancellations and no-shows.
